Golf Dominates at Districts

Coyotes Are Off To State

On Monday, May 9, the Coyote Golf team traveled to Cle Elum, Washington to compete at the 2b district golf tournament. They got to play at the Suncadia Resort on their Prospector course, which is only one of their 3 beautiful courses. It was a tough day on the course, with it being windy, cold, and wet. But Shayley Larson and William Neylon persevered and stayed right alongside their competition the whole round.

William Neylon ended up getting 4th place in the boys division with a score of 97. Shayley Larson finished her round with a 107 and a tie for first place, which led her and her competitor to a playoff hole. The playoff holes were intense with the added pressure of a gallery watching them play. They tied the first two holes, but on the third hole it was even on the green. Larson two putted and her competitor’s ball looped out of the hole causing her to take one more stroke than Burbank’s Shayley Larson. So, with that 6 for the tiebreaker win, Shayley Larson earned the title of the 2b Girls District Golf Champion.

Since both Shayley and Will were within the top 8 players, they will both be advancing to the 1b/2b State Championships in Deer Park May 23-25.
