The Mariners came up with a disappointing loss facing the Houston Astros on Tuesday. The Mariners started off strong and had a 4-2 lead by the 4th inning.  Into the 9th inning the Mariners had a 7-5 lead this game looked to be in the bag for the Mariners but Scott Servais decided to take Sewald out and put Robbie Ray in to close the game. This decision would ultimately lead to the Mariners being defeated 8-7 when Yordan Alvarez hit a 3 run Walk off home run to end the game.  The blast came on just the second pitch by Robbie Ray who doesn’t normally close a game.  The gamble didn’t pay off for Seattle and Houston took a 1-0 lead in the best of 5 series.
