There is a third high school coming to the Tri Cities. The school is expected to be opening by fall of 2025. The high school will be located at road 60 and Burns Road in West Pasco near Rosalind Franklin Elementary School. The main purpose for the construction of a third high school in Pasco is to help alleviate the overcrowding at Chiawana High School – The largest high school in Washington state as well as Pasco High School – the sixth largest high school in the state of Washington. The school district is bursting with students as Pasco has seen massive growth over the last decade.
The school plans house the following sports including football basketball baseball softball tennis soccer and track and field. The school will have a football field but sporting events will be held at Edgar Brown Stadium. About two thousand students will attend this high school at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. This will make all three Pasco high schools 4A classification, which is the largest class in the state.
The school board released the name this week and the new school will be called Harvest View High School. Many people took to social media with their viewpoints and the early reaction is one of disbelief. However, the mascot and colors have not been decided yet so when the entire package is put together maybe the community will get behind the new name.
