The New York Knicks just finished off their series home stand against the 76ers, and they capitalized the home court advantage as they have went up 2-0 in the series. Following a game one victory on Saturday 111-104 the Knicks started off game two slow s the 76ers jumped out to a 25-18 1st quarter lead, as Tyrese Maxey was the hot hand for them early on. Then in the 2nd quarter the Knicks started crawling back as they kept on hitting shots from beyond the arc. The 76ers led 53-49 going into halftime. In the 3rd quarter the Knicks kept on crawling back and finally took the lead late in the 3rd courtesy of Jalen Brunson hitting shots late in the final minutes, Knicks led 79-74.
During the 4th it was back and fourth, and following a Tyrese Maxey 3 pointer and a free throw made the 76ers led 101-96 with 30 seconds left. Then Donte DiVincenzo, drives inside and finds Jalen Brunson in the corner, and after a shot fake Brunson delivers and cuts the lead down to two. After the shot the Knicks would need to trap the 76ers and get the ball back to get a full possession. Only 27 seconds remained on the game clock and 24 second shot clock its very improbable to get a real shot off with only 3 seconds. The 76ers inbounded the ball to Maxey and was trapped by Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, causing Maxey to lose the ball and Josh Hart grabs it and dishes it to Donte DiVincenzo and he missed the wide open three, then out of nowhere Isaiah Hartenstein grabs the offensive rebound and dishes it back to DiVincenzo and he drains a three at the top of the key go take the lead 102-101 with 15 seconds left, the Isaiah Hartenstein blocks Maxey the next possession to seal the deal after a couple made free throws.
Tyrese Maxey finished with 35 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists. Joel Embiid had 34 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists. For the Knicks Jalen Brunson had 24 points, Josh Hart had a 21 points 15 rebound game, and Donte DiVincenzo finished with 19 points.
