On January 1st the Washington Huskies played the Texas Longhorns in a tight battle in the Sugar Bowl in a College Semifinal game. Both offenses played pretty well overall, the Texas offense was led by the quarterback Quinn Ewers with throwing for 318 yards and one touchdown. The rushing game was very good for Texas Cj Baxter leading the team with 64 total rushing yards on the game and one touchdown the other touchdown for the rushing game for Texas was Jaydon Blue.
The offense for the Huskies was ran to precision with Michael Penix Jr throwing for 430 passing yards and two touchdowns he threw for the third most passing yards in the sugar bowl ever. The rushing game was decent for the huskies with Dillion Johnson leading the rushing game with 49 total rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The Texas Longhorns defense forced one fumble but that was about it they could not stop the Huskies electrifying offense they allowed 532 total yards on the game and had zero sacks on the game. The leading tackler for the Longhorns was Jaylan Ford with six tackles in this game. The Huskies defense was not bad, they did let up 31 points and let the Texas offense have 498 total yards on the game. But forced two fumbles and had two sacks both by Bralen Trice.
The Huskies defense limited the time of possession for the Texas offense with 23 minutes of possession and the Huskies offense having 36 minutes for time of possession. The leading tackler for Washington was Edefuan Ulofoshio with five total tackles. The Huskies defense will need to be better if they want to win the National Championship against Michigan.
