FCS Food Drive Success

School Club Helps Locals

FCS+Food+Drive+Success

Mrs. England’s family consumers science club went to the Kennewick police department to help pass out food for families in need. The police department partnered up with HAPO and Second Harvest. Winco even donated gift cards to their stores so families could continue getting more supplies.

The club was made up of Colin Rogers, Makayla Gonzalas, Alyssa Stanley, Emmalee Lawrence, Marlee Salazar and Rafael Cisneros. The students helped gather food into bags. Once there was enough food set up in bags the cars started to come through for pick up. Rafeal and ColinĀ  put meatballs and chicken in the back of the vehicle. Emmalee and Makayla put the milk, bananas, and watermelon in the car and then Alyssa put the bags of food in the car with the help of Marlee. Other volunteers gave out the Winco gift cards and stuffed animals to the kids.

These food donations happen frequently and they always need more volunteers. If you would like to join the FCS Club contact Mrs. England.
