The Tri-Cities Professional Firefighters Honor Guard presented the colors at Monday’s sunrise over the 9/11 memorial at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex in Kennewick. The Honor Guard, including members of the Kennewick Police Department and Benton County Sheriff’s Office, paid respects to those killed during the terrorist attacks in 2001. The 22nd annual remembrance ceremony was near the 3-ton, 35-foot piece of steel from the destroyed World Trade Center towers.
