Lady Coyotes Take Down Riverside Pirates

Home win for the Coyotes

Last Tuesday, during winter break, the Lady Coyotes faced the Riverside (Boardman, OR) Pirates in a non league home game. They were matched very well height wise. The game started off slow, the girls trying to find their rhythm and the ball going back and forth between possessions. The first quarter ended with a score of 12-8 Coyotes.

The girls started the second quarter with some baskets and started to flow better. They made some great plays and started to gain some ground on the Pirates. Several of the Coyotes’ points came off of steals made by Karsyn Wallace, Shayley Larson, Audri Kinsey, and Alyssa Stanley. At the end of the 2nd quarter the Coyotes had a 10 point lead 31-21.

After halftime, Burbank came back stronger and ran some good defense, but also made some great offensive moves to keep the score climbing. Three of the Lady Coyotes scored 14 points, which were Alyssa Stanley, Audri Kinsey, and Josie Lee. The girls ended the game with a score of 50-39, winning their game against the Riverside Pirates to prepare them for the upcoming wave of league matchups beginning after break.
