The District Championship game the Coyotes played against Cle Elum who dominated the West side like the Coyotes did the East side. Both teams were going into this game with 1 loss.

At the start of the game the Coyotes got an easy bucket off the tip. Cle Elum started off strong and had a lead of 14-6  but the Coyotes came back and ended the quarter down 1. The Coyotes started the second quarter off well and scored easy giving them the lead 30-25 at that half.

The third quarter started and the Coyotes continued scoring giving them more of a lead and at one point were up by 10 points. At the start of the 4th quarter the Coyotes made some passing mistakes giving Cle Elum easy points making the lead the Coyotes had only 4 points. With a minute left Cle Elum was down 2 with the ball and shot a three pointer but missed and then led to the Coyotes getting 2 points from Jonathan Palacios with 2 free throws. The clock had ran down from 5 seconds as the Coyotes were back to back District Champs.

Michael Lenke led all scorers with 31 points, Tristan Frimodt had 8 points with 6 assists, Quincy Scott had 8 points with 6 assist, and Jonathan Palacios had 8 points and the game clinching free throws.

Both teams will advance to the next round of 16 and both teams play in a loser out game Saturday. The Coyotes next game will be Saturday at Richland High School at 2.   Burbank plays Ilwaco and winner goes to the state in the Spokane arena.
