The Seattle Seahawks fell to the vising Falcons 27-23. Geno Smith threw for 325 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Penny ran for 66 yards on 14 carries. Geno Smith is playing like a solid quarterback so far in this early season however, this might be a rebuilding year for the Seahawks as they look to add more depth through the NFL draft. If the Seahawks want to be contenders they have to build up their squad, they are missing crucial pieces. If they want to play in February they are going to need to find a new team identity and that starts at the quarterback position.

Pete Carroll is arguably a hall of fame level coach and if he wants to compete for another ring he is going to need to build up his team. They have a solid bridge quarterback in Geno Smith but he won’t be able to carry them out of the Divisional round and the offensive line is ranked bottom six according to Sharp football analysis. Seattle’s defense is ranked bottom eight once again from Sharp football analysis. They have a solid Wide receiver core, a decent tight end room, and a young running backfield in Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Walker III. With that being said, Seahawks fans, there is no reason to panic the team is having some growing pains but if rebuilt right they will have the chance to compete for the top spot just like in 2013.
