Flooding in California

Floods are affecting parts of southern California, central coast, northern California, and Nevada as the result of multiple atmospheric rivers. In California, it has been due to extended periods of heavy rainfall. The flooding began after record levels of rainfall were recorded on December 31, 2022. About 17 people have died in the floods resulting in houses being torn all the way down, more than 150,000 electric customers without power.  The damage is large scale and across the southwest.
