As of September 26, 2022 Jupiter came the closest to earth that is has in around 59 years being only 367 Million miles.  Much closer than when compared to its 601 Million Miles at its Farthest. While Jupiter was close it was visible in the night sky. Jupiter was not only the closest but also happened to be lined up with the sun and the earth which isn’t too rare  as it happens around every 13 months.

Seeing Jupiter in the night sky was exciting for the many onlookers. This is an event that only happens about once in someone’s lifetime. With every 12 years being one rotation around the sun for Jupiter making it unknown when exactly this kind of event will happen again.
